Italian Doors
Robin at My Melange posted on her favorite Italian arches the other day and it made me think of our last trip to Italy. It was E's first trip and she had a fascination with all the beautiful doors (and there are many.) She took pictures of some of her favorites and had them framed. Here are just a few. The one in the middle is my favorite... it was a mini door in Panzano in Chianti.

I think great minds think alike, Joe ;) I Love them all!!! I have many shots of French and Italian doors too. There is just something about them. They are so large and welcoming. Makes you wonder who has walked through them ;)

Lovely images. We love old doors too and old walls with layers of peeling paint and rusty metal and old weathered wood, I guess the key word here is old. Things just seem to look so much better when they have 'lived'.
The middle one is my favourite too. 'E' has got a good eye.
I'm always fascinated by the doors in Italy because I wonder how old they are? They was a really giant set of wooden doors in Florence, so large, I couldn't get a proper photo of it. I'm sure it is for some government office. And, I always wondered how hard it was to get them closed at night!
Very nice doors. I have a fascination with them and windows as well. I have quite a few photos of them and maybe I will follow your theme one of these days, especially as it gets busier her and post some of my favorites also.
You are all so right.... and E does have a great eye. Old is beautiful:)
